Carilion Clinic is pleased to offer you access to your medical information through MyChart, a Web-based version of our electronic medical record system.

The Terms and Conditions of Use statement outlines our practices and our sensitivity to your right to privacy. We reserve the right to revoke access at any time for any reason.

Response to MyChart messages

Carilion Clinic will make its best effort to provide a timely response to electronic inquiries. In some cases, clinical staff that need to respond may not be immediately available. Please allow at least three (3) business days for a response. Accordingly, emergency situations requiring immediate attention should not be submitted electronically.

Furthermore, we are only able to respond to communications based on the information provided by the patient. If there is not enough information provided, we will be unable to give accurate and reliable services.

Paperless Billing

By enrolling in MyChart, you have agreed to receive all future Carilion Clinic statements (also referred to as bills or invoices) electronically via your MyChart account. Your account will automatically update today to reflect that all future statements will be sent electronically only. Please be aware that you will not receive any paper or hard copy statements unless you opt-out from receiving electronic statements. To opt-out of electronic statements, you can click on the Billing Summary section in your account and then choose the blue hyperlink “cancel paperless billing.” Any opt-out request will be effective immediately. If you have any questions or concerns about how to opt-out of receiving electronic statements and/or if you would like to request a paper copy of any statement, please contact [1-866-720-3742].

E-mail Privacy

Patients will be notified through e-mail when there is new medical information to be viewed on MyChart. Any person with access to a patient’s e-mail will be able to see this notification. This could include the patient’s spouse, employer or anyone else who can access a patient’s e-mail account.
